Looking for a roommate...
Kaliak and I have too different of views on life to be compatible in living together, plus our preferences on what to do for "fun" doesn't mix well. Kal has agreed to move out, but only once I have a new roommate lined up, or plans to move into another smaller apartment I can afford on my own better. A few of you I've already discussed this with but here's the official notice. I will make a much more detailed post about it...soon.. I hope. I'd much rather live with a friend than a stranger I don't know, though I undertand it being unlikely anyone is ready to just up and move over. Over a month since I last called my CC company, finally called them again.. After getting my call dropped once I was able to talk to someone. A lot of holding and a couple of transfers and they -finally- figured out what the problem was.. The fraudulent check was posted to my -new- account, not my old one, because checks don't have an account number on them, they just get put on whatever account is currently active. Their solution is to close the new account and open a new account, sending me a new card and such. Why they could not just credit the account is beyond me, but whatever, as long as the charges are all dropped I'll be happy. Still thinking about writing a nasty letter to them about their crappy customer service though... In other news, hours are really tight at work. I went from a steady 40 hours workweek to 30 or below. It is believed this will only last through this period (which is just a bit over a month), so I should be alright. Also, Kal finally got his tax return and was able to pay me in full all back rent, so I have some cushioning of cash now. I signed up for a new credit card yesterday, a blue sky from capital one. I don't really need a new card, but if you put a thousand dollars on the card within 3 or so months, they give you 30,000 bonus miles, which is the equivelent of two $200 plane tickets. There are several friends I'd like to go visit so thought doing this might be a good idea on how to make it happen. Besides, the way I figured it, the card i use right now most is discover and they give a 1% cash back reward. That means $2000 spent to earn a $25 borders gift card (turn in 20, they give you 25). That means for every $8000 I spend, i get $100 in borders gift cards. Well with this blue sky card, I get $100 off a plane ticket for every 7500 points, so thats $500 less I have to spend to get $100 worth of stuff. Plus, with no expiration of the points, this might help me make it to some cons as well (planned on flying down to next FC rather than the canadian van trip anyways) We'll have to see how it goes. Speaking of cons, one of my friends has a room for AC.. Very very tempted.. He offered to practically let me stay with him for free, though I would of course compensate him as much as possible.. Still, thats right around the 4th of July and thats when I go up to my grandma's. Another year has come and gone and left its mark upon my hide. Went out to mongolian grill for my birthday dinner with my mom, bro, kaliak and tommie. Experiencing Technical Difficulties...Please Stand By
My computer power supply died on monday right before I went to work. Just now ordered a new one from new egg, so will probably be this upcoming monday or tuesday before i make an appearance online. I have been borrowing Anon's laptop to shop for a new one and for a bit of chatting with a couple of our shared friends. When I woke up today I felt completely fine. Until I started moving around, then the cold symptoms came back. x_x At least they aren't nearly as severe as yesterday! I expect to be completely cold free by tomorrow or the next day. Unfortunately, Anon is starting to feel the first symptoms I felt when this all started. Hopefully he doesn't get it as bad as I did! I also had another chiropractic appointment today..guess I forgot to mention that here. I got tired of my frequent headaches, stiff neck, and lower back pains after working a bit. Fire Dragon gave me a coupon for his chiropractor for an exam for $35 for I gave it a try. Turns out my lower back is at a 50 degree angle and its supposed to be between 34 and 42, and my neck is 8 degrees off of being straight. They showed me where my head's "natural" resting place is and its turned slightly to the right. Also looking at the X-Rays my neck is like this: \ / \ So I have started regular visits, twice a week for three weeks, then once a week for three weeks, to try and help both. Hopefully this will help me out. Thankfully I have insurance through work, as even with them paying 80% this will still cost me a total of about $150. Tomorrow is my bro's 22nd birthday. Will also be the first time my mom meets Anon o.O Just..haven't gotten around to it before now, been busy...and speaking of busy, Tommie will be spending the weekend here with us. Still alive!
But quite sick, had to call work and tell them i wasn't coming in these past two days, and the day before that I only did a partial shift before i felt too sick to stay there any longer...Nothing serious, just a severe headcold. Unfortunately it also happened when Kiyoshi and Ranan were here visiting! Still we had some good days of game playing, movie watching, and food eating. Those boys are some excellent cooks! ^_^ Was great to meet Ranan for the first time and always a pleasure to have Kiyoshi over. They are already missed by Anon, Kaliak, and myself. In other news, Soki Twopaw paid me a visit at work. Was nice to meet him in person. :3 A friend of mine pointed him out at Rainfurrest but he was in suit and I was unable to find him later. He lives only about a half hour from me and I've been talking to him on AIM since the con. Being sick sucks. I had plans to take Anon to Seattle tomorrow (possibly lunch with Soki on the way there), watch a laser light show at the laser dom, spend the night at one of his friends places, and then meet up with a friend of mine from New Zealand named CyberianHusky on friday. With this cold it's kinda killing the chances of that unless I have a miraculous recovery in the next 12 hours... Bwee, Anon arrived two days ago and is staying for about two months! This is his 20th birthday today, which we have already made 'memorable'..*coughs and blushes* and hopefully will continue to bring him many happy times. Rawrish
21 weeks since my last post..and I've gained more furs watching my journal than lost them, lol! Lesse, what to post..well I went through my friends on here..added most of those whom had added me..took a couple off as well. I read the friends post page on occasion but just haven't felt like posting anything here... One more month until anon is here for a visit. Going to Further Confusion
Yeah yeah, I am utterly horribly behind with LJ, and everytime I set a day aside to do something about it something goes wrong (past 3 days that were my days off were spent dealing and recovering from food poisoning) but one day it might happen..maybe.. Anyways, this is just a quick announcement, albeit a few days later than I hoped for, that I will be at further confusion, my second con ever. I will be traveling in a caravan from Canada down to California on the 17th, should arrive in the afternoon of the 18th. Leaving sometime on the 22nd. Eager to meet any of my friends that are going in person.
